RCIA is an acronym for the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults.  It's the program of instruction that the Catholic church has developed to educate adults as they prepare to receive their sacraments and officially enter the church.

The classes are held in the St. Stephen First Martyr Catholic Church Parish Hall on Wednesday nights from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.  They run from September to Easter.

The classes are taught by Deacon Doug Delzeith and his wife, Renee.  Visit Deacon Doug's "About Me" page to learn more about this amazing couple.

A sacrament is a gift from the Holy Spirit that provides us with the knowledge, strength, and commitment to live out our faith.

RCIA is an opportunity to learn the basic beliefs and traditions of the Catholic Church.

The student spends a lot of time in discernment as to their "calling" to conversion.  They can choose at any time to not commit to join the church or they can continue on with the process that culminates in a huge celebration on Holy Saturday, the night before Easter, in which they receive one of more sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation.
